VOLUNTEERING
Our school parents and community volunteers play an integral role in the total education of our students. At Christ the King School, we value the commitment parents make to their children and their school. We are also fortunate to have other parish members who offer their time and talents to the school. For more details on opportunities to volunteer and get involved in ways both in and out of the classrooms, please review the information below.

Bellarmine Speech Coach
The speech league provides a fun, yet challenging opportunity for students grades 5th through 8th to write and perform speeches at competitions held during the school year. An adult, volunteer, coach is assigned to each student to help him or her prepare for a meet. [more info]
Drama Club Moderators
Christ the King school has a drama club for students in grades 6 through 8, which produces a variety of plays during the course of a school year. Volunteers can help with productions in a variety of ways. [more info]
Equations Math Club
"Equations" is a game of creative math for children grades 3 through 8 that provides players with practice in arithmetic operations. One or more adult volunteers are needed to coach each grade level. [more info]
Field Trip Assistants
Each classroom takes an annual field trip. The classroom teacher chooses a fun, yet educational location each year. Adult volunteers are needed to attend the field trips and help with the children. You can contact a classroom teacher for additional information if you are interested in assisting.
Library Aid
Christ the King has a school library open to the children in grades K through 8 on Mondays. The library is entirely staffed by volunteers who perform a variety of tasks. [more info]
Office Assistance
The school office occasionally needs assistance for typing, making telephone calls, or other general office assistance. If you are interested in offering your talents in this area please contact the school office at 725-5855.
Parking Lot Monitors
Volunteers are needed to direct the school-pickup traffic every day at dismissal. The safety of our children is of great concern to us so procedures were put in place to protect the children and to create an efficient and consistent pick-up procedure. You can volunteer to help as often as you like or just a week at a time. [more info]
Room Parents
Room parents are volunteers used in each grade to complete several necessary and helpful tasks. [more info]
School Board
The purpose of the school board is to advise the Pastor during the process of reviewing and creating policies for Christ the King school programs. Volunteers from the school and parish communities staff the school board. [more info]
Scouting (Boys)
Christ the King school offers boy-scouting programs starting in the first grade. The programs' goals are to build character, teach participatory citizenship, and help develop personal fitness. Volunteers coordinate the overall scouting programs at the school and each pack or a volunteer leader runs troop. [more info]
Scouting (Girls)
Christ the King school offers Girl-Scouting programs starting in Kindergarten. The programs' goals are to encourage skill building and responsibility, and also promote the development of strong leadership and decision-making skills. Volunteers coordinate the overall scouting programs at the school and a volunteer leader runs each troop. [more info]
Sports
The goal of the Christ the King athletic association is to allow every boy and girl the opportunity to participate in athletics and by doing so, develop discipline and respect, build character, and gain an understanding of the value of teamwork. Volunteers are needed to staff the athletic association and to coach each grade's team. [more info]
Teacher's aides
Each classroom teacher can be contacted to determine if and when they may need classroom volunteer assistance. You can call the school office and leave a message for any individual teacher.
Technology Committee
The Technology Committee of Christ the King School helps to integrate technology into the educational process in such a way that each student is prepared to effectively utilize computers and the Internet in their learning, and to be technically literate in the workplace and in everyday dealings.  Integrating technology in the educational process will improve student achievement, encourage communication and provide broader access to information for students, faculty and staff. Tutoring
Volunteers are needed to tutor students who need additional help in a variety of subjects. If you are interested in working as a student tutor, please call the school office for additional information.
Home and School Association
The home and school association is multi-purpose organization that is primarily responsible for facilitating communications between the school and the parents. The main goal is to keep parents informed about what is happening within the school. Volunteers are needed to staff the home and school association's board. [more info]
