Please continue to pray for our Deacon Dave Dille. He recently had a doctor’s appointment and his recovery is going very slowly and his fractures are more extensive than originally diagnosed. His recovery time will be prolonged. We miss your joyful presence here, Deacon Dave!
The 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal has officially closed its books. With over 47,000 households across the Archdiocese participating, the Appeal realized more than $15 million in gifts and pledges, the most it has ever raised . . . AND, even in the midst of the Beyond Sunday campaign! A review of our Christ the King response to the ACA is as follows:
Published Goal: $42,375 Challenge Goal (2016 total): $67,919 CTK 2017 Actual: $61,291
New Donor Goal: 21 CTK Actual: 32 % 2016 Participation: 36% % CTK 2017: 38%
A HUGE thank you to Mike and Cathy O’Neill for their superb job in chairing this effort on behalf of our parish. We are very grateful for your leadership.
MARK YOUIR CALENDAR FOR NOVEMBER 26! That Sunday is the Solemnity of our patronal feast -- Christ the King. Not only that, but this year is the 90th birthday of our parish, founded in 1927. We hope to fittingly honor and celebrate the blessings that have been ours for these past 90 years. At the 10:00 a.m. Mass that Sunday we will have a “Mass Mob”, inviting former parishioners and friends of CTK to join us for the birthday celebration. In addition:
- We will receive coverage in the St Louis Review with an article about the parish
- We have invited former pastor and current bishop of Colorado Springs, +Michael Sheridan to be the primary celebrant, with invitations extended also to former pastors Fathers John Ditenhafer and Tim Foley, and former associates who served here.
- We will have archival photos and memorabilia over the preceding weeks in the bulletin
- We will dedicate our Annual Giving drive to this birthday event in order to raise funds to replace the gutters, downspouts, and roofing that is original and in need of replacement (we will even provide photos of leaks and deterioration!)
All in all, it should be a great event for a grand and venerable parish we hold so dear.
May Christ the King reign in our lives.
