Christ the King School - At a Glance

Christ the King Catholic School is  Catholic, coeducational school for students in pre-Kindergarten (three years of age) through eighth grade. Children of all faiths are welcome. Our school is located at the corner of Balson and Purdue Avenues, just west of Midland Ave. in the heart of University City. Christ the King Catholic School is accredited by the National Federation of Non-Public School State Accrediting Association.


REGISTRATION FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR -  
Families NEW to Christ the King Catholic School

To complete registration you will need copies of your child’s:

•      birth certificate
•      social security card
•      baptismal record (if applicable)
•      All new students must have proof of physical exam, OR verification of upcoming appointment scheduled.
•      Health/Immunization Records

If registering for PreschoolRegistration fee of $100 due at time of registration.
If registering for Kindergarten – Grade 8Christ the King Home & School Activity fee of $125 due at time of registration.
If registering for Kindergarten – Grade 8:   Christ the King Curriculum and Technology fee, $300 PER STUDENT, will be part of your payment plan. 

All tuition will be deducted from the financial plan you select on your contract:
Checking Account, Savings Account, or Credit Card  (2.85% charge)    
One payment, 2% savings
Two payments, 1% savings
Ten monthly payments, August – May

7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Preschool Day:
8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Preschool Extended Day:
11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

After School Child Care:
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

After School Child Care:
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m


Student Body

195 students (Pre-K to 8th grade) representing many ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. 27% of the student body is non-Catholic. CKS students come from 22 different zip codes in the metro area.

Certifications: Missouri State Principal's Certificate, Paul VI Religious Institute-Catechist, Coordinator of Religious Education.

In addition to the core curriculum, CKS students in grades K - 8 receive instruction in:

Technology

CKS offers a fully equipped computer lab, Internet access in every classroom and SMART Boards in PK- Grade 8 classrooms, class set of Apple IPADS, 60 Chromebooks.

Library

CKS' comprehensive library containing 3100+ volumes, is staffed by parents and community volunteers.

Resource Room

Our Learning Consultant manages caseloads of students with special needs, mentoring teachers and supporting parents to best meet students' needs.

Our 4 full-time Teachers' Aides, work directly with individuals or small groups to diversify instruction and perform on-going reading assessments in our guided-level reading program.

Title 1 teacher, available through Government funding, teaches small group of students recommended by faculty and administration for remedial support in Math and/or Reading in the early grades for the purpose of early-intervention as needed.

 

Hot Lunch Program - Temporarily Suspended (20/21)

Students enjoy nutritional, delicious hot lunches, sack lunches or boxed salad in our CKS cafeteria. Our food service is provided by Food Service Consultants of St. Louis.  Students are also welcome to bring a lunch from home.  Bringers may purchase milk at school.
