Christ the King Catholic Church and School follow the Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment Program (Protecting God's Children).  The purpose of the Safe Environment Program is to create and maintain a safe environment for all God's children. All employees, volunteers, religious, priests, and deacons who work with or near children must be compliant with the Safe Environment Program of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis set forth by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Compliance with the Safe Environment Program includes attending a Protecting God's Children Workshop, completing a Missouri Background Check, and reading and signing a Code of Ethical Conduct for Clergy, Employees, and Volunteers working with minor's document. Each location must have copies of individual background checks & a confirmation of the code of ethical conduct form on file for all active volunteers and employees.

  1. Attend a Protecting God’s Children Workshop –

  2. Sign the last page of the Commitment to Ethical Conduct (see attachment); and,

  3. Complete a Worker Registration Form (see attachment). (Christ the King will cover the registration cost). Once volunteers and employees are registered with the Family Care Safety Registry, Christ the King will perform a background check on all volunteers and employees; and will update background checks every even-numbered year as mandated by the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

    • Additional background checks will be required if you resided outside the state of Missouri in the past five years or who currently reside in Illinois or another state.

    • Additional information regarding background checks will be given at the workshop. If you have questions, do not have the ability to register online, or need assistance with this process please contact the parish office at 314-721-8737 or the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Program at 314-792-7271.

    • Missouri Background Checks are updated every even numbered year. Please let the parish office know if you would like to be removed from the list of active volunteers. You must also contact the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry at 1-866-422-6872 with address changes.
