MUSIC AT CHRIST THE KING

This time of year is a great time to become reacquainted with the music program at Christ the King.  The singing assembly is highly valued, the sound of your voice joining in our song together is so important.

ADULT CHOIR rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  Classical and contemporary choral literature is learned to enrich parish worship, mostly at the 10:00 a.m. Mass each weekend and on Holy Days.

CANTORS are song leaders who enliven our sung prayer and invite those gathered to join in our common song.  They also chant the appointed Psalm for each day and intone the Gospel Acclamation.

SCHOLA CANTORUM Children’s Choirs rehearse weekly and sing for School Masses and occasional weekend parish Masses.  Grades 6, 7, and 8 rehearse on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in Church; Grades 3, 4, and 5 rehearse on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m., also in church.

Parishioners willing to lead the singing for funerals are members of the RESURRECTION CHOIR

Christ the King is blessed with many gifted INSTRUMENTALISTS; their music always gives a lift to our celebrations.
